Here is an example of just how much $5USD can help. Huge difference. No cost.

$5 supplies training materials for young women.

The project funds small business solutions for 250 female artisans in three remote villages in East Timor. Extensive training provides the skills needed to manage and build their handcrafts businesses. Mentoring programs improve their capacity to protect weaving traditions and their natural environment now and into the future. The project also aims to influence broader handcrafts sector sustainability through demonstration impact and advocacy.

More than 50% of families in remote villages in Lautem have no cash income and only 3% of girls over the age of 15 attend high school. $5 helps women from these communities participate in vocational training to empower them to build fairer futures for themselves and their communities.

Project participants are located in three communities, two of which are very remote. Contact project supporters in Australia via www.etwa.org.au for more information.
