Location Haifa, Israel

Summary
Palestinian Children in Israel are among the most disadvantaged. Please help 450 children, their families and communities, facing social and economic disadvantage reach a positive change through individual and group music education.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
65% of Palestinian children in Israel live in poverty, mostly attending substandard schools, lacking meaningful after-school activities, living in localities without adequate infrastructure, facing discrimination, lacking perspectives for the future and facing an unstable social & political situation. The project will provide creative music education to 450 children from low income families living in the Galilee region, indirectly benefiting their families and local communities.

How will this project solve this problem?
With trained and capable staff, Beit Almusica will establish a network of community music workshops working in creative ways that involve children as creators of music rather than just recipients. Children can develop their musical talent, be creative and engage in meaningful activities promoting their personal development as well as the development of artistic skills.

Children create their own musical instrument from recycled materials.

This project can be visited between September to June, Mo-Fri from 13.00-18.00 or according to scheduling. It takes about 20 minutes by car from Haifa. Please contact the office under +972-4-9500230 or [email protected] if you are interested in a visit.
