Here is an example of just how much $5USD can help. Huge difference. No cost.

A $5 donation will pay a teacher's salary for one day of teaching - approximately 40 students for 4

Spitler School is located in a rural village not far from the city of Siem Reap in Cambodia. The school was the dream of a young tour guide who had survived the terror of the Khmer Rouge genocide which took the lives of his father and two of his siblings. In 2005, with assistance from the Spitler Family in the United States, young Chea Sarin built a small classroom and hired two teachers. In subsequent years, under Sarin's leadership, the school has grown into an impressive campus serving over 500 elementary school children and becoming a source of hope and pride for the whole village of Ang Chagn.

Spitler School is supported by the Spitler School Foundation, which is a 501c3 charitable foundation established in the United States. With Sarin’s leadership, and with the support of many donors and volunteers, the school continues to take bold initiatives to improve the lives of children and their families. In addition to providing an elementary education that conforms to Ministry of Education standards, Spitler School also provides a comprehensive English programs for it's students. The school also provides funding to assist it's graduates to continue their education in middle school.

The success of Spitler School is a testament to the energy and passion of Chea Sarin, but it is also made possible by the continuing financial support of many individual donors who wish to make a significant difference to the lives of hundreds of deserving children.

In Cambodia, small donations can go a long way. A $5 donation will pay a teacher's salary for one day or purchase a school uniform for one student.

Visits to the school can be arranged with advanced notice. Visits to the school are designed to minimize any disruption to the classroom activities, and can be arranged by contacting Chea Sarin at: (855) 12 630 665, or [email protected]. Those wishing to explore volunteer opportunites at the school can contact the Spitler School Volunteer Coordinators: James Latt at: [email protected] or Loll Thorne at: [email protected]
